The finish of your Boucher guitar is made of several coats which is consisted of a high-quality varnish urethane. The last coat is polished and is handmade. Warning, the contact with certain synthetic materials, such imitation leather or other alternative products could damage the finish. Before storing your instrument for a long period of time, clean it with a soft fabric. We are suggesting you to use a polish like the Jim Dunlop 655 A sudden change of temperature or humidity can produce small cracks on the surface of your guitar finish or even, provoke springing on the soundboard or rib in your guitar body. Most of the time, it happens when your instrument is in a place that subject to high temperature change. This event happens, usually, during winter time when you open your guitar case coming from outside in a warm place. It results of a wood expansion in your finish. Although this situation doesn’t change the sonority, it’s quite different for your guitar look. To avoid such disagreement, we are advising you to wait a couple hours before opening your case. |
